Actually this is true-she is a desk jockey at Torchwood!odd being a few episode hence too-i had thought i'd seen her before- The guys in this episode are spitting image of Ianto's role at Torch wood later too.Gwen from Torchwood was in an earlier story too-as a maid in dickens/cardiff/gaslight story-no coincidence there I'm sure. We are having reruns from doctor 9 thru to most recent episodes each weeknight and it is great to watch with this degree of continuity. There is much to pick up on- that you may've missed unless you have a great DVD collection and have watched it end to end and have other whovians to compare notes with. Endlessly entertaining.

As for favourite companion...Rose was great if you have a bit of a sweet tooth/spot. Martha's yearning only made him seem more tragic but she had the 'joy' of opting out rather than being cast aside. Donna was dose of the best medicine-funny and courageous. He is a bit bipolar really-wears melancholy like that well fitted suit of his, then manically, hair raisingly upbeat-hard act to compliment this-not that many wouldn't love to,myself included.>

I somehow knew she would be this kind of gal. Her books always have such depth that they had to have been written by someone really bright. There is something about her that reminds me of Judy Dench. Not the same accent but something.

I like the idea of Luccio, a match of equals or nearly so. To be honest I'm a tad concerned about Molly Carpenter. Sure, Harry has distanced himself because of her youth and his position as her mentor makes him feel as if even noticing her that way is unethical. The problem is she has it bad for him (in my opinion), he is 100 percent human and 100 percent male, and they are in an awful lot of life and death situations. He may try to be her Yoda but she is no Luke Skywalker.

We would love to have been able to offer that but it simply wasn't possible. I am sure you are correct in thinking that many people may be considering his performance as a factor in buying the audio. Terrific book and terrific actor makes for great entertainment ! As to adding his autograph to that of the authors, I have a feeling a lot of people may do that when he makes a personal appearance at a convention.

You should have James Marsters sign the book as well - he is after all giving the voice and bring these characters. Also, there are many potential buyers who will consider buying this only because James Marsters is reading it.

Something to consider.

Susan is definitely out (I'm brilliant, I know.), Elaine is not coming back, Murphy has just a few too many issues to find eternal happiness with Harry. Of all the women in Harry's life, I liked his interactions with Lash, Luccio, and Lara (yes, the sexy, manipulative anti-villain vampire who has worked more than a few times with our P.I. wizard and seems to take a bit more pleasure in messing with him than to be considered professional). It might be a coincidence, but all three ladies have their (most commonly refereed) names start with 'L'.

Lash's loss was - and still is - devastating to me, I thought she and Harry had a good thing going on. By giving the shadow of Laschiel, Harry had managed to slowly turn Lash into an entity independent of the real fallen angel, mellowing her out, and eventually changing her enough that she willingly sacrificed herself so her host can live (I wept shamelessly when I got to that part). However, it gives me hope that the feminine and soothing voice at the end of "Changes" could very well be Lash herself.

Luccio, when she found out she was subtly manipulated into liking and sleeping with Harry, I believed to be emotionally torn to pieces, which was covered up quite well due to her sorta old-world views. They might not had been in love with each other, but I would like to think they meant a bit more to each other than simply friends-with-benefits.

Last but not least, Lara. True, she is manipulative, cunning, and completely ruthless in her pursuits of power when she needs to be, but generally speaking, has been quite civil and friendly with Harry throughout the novels, not to mention that they have both grown to admire, if not appreciate, each other's gift and manipulating the other. On top of that, her pet name for him, "wizard mine", certainly implies a certain degree of intimacy, the "mine" wouldn't be used on just any wizard she knows.

Though all three make excellent candidates for Harry's affection, I admit Lash's and Luccio's chances have grown slimmer (call me a sap, but I think they can still make a rebound), which leaves either Lara or some new and fresh female characters Butcher will decide to introduce in the upcoming books.

This is a very thorough interview. Can't say I am liking Person of Interest or Alcatraz much. Guess you can't please everybody all the time. Hope he does as well with his second Star Trek movie as he did with the first. A reworking of Wrath of Khan? I don't know.

I'm always interested in what makes something succesful over the long haul. Mr. Harris does a nice job of letting us peek behind the curtain so to speak.
